How to update Edge2 software.

Answer

Software downloads and OS updates are performed automatically in the background.
Functionality is not restricted and can be used as usual while the device is running.

Requirements

Only ON and OFF operation of the Edge2 main unit in a good network environment (wired LAN cable connected to the device) is required.

Explanation

Update procedure

1. Turn on the power, start the app in the tablet, and receive the update information

Launch the device/application, and the update information (version guide) will pop up as shown below.
*Internet environment is required.

2. Select "Update", download, and reboot device

• Using a wired LAN case: You can connect the LAN cable after turning the power ON.
  *If the wired LAN is through security, it will not go online. When using the wired LAN specification, please check if you can search and browse the web on the tablet that the Edge2 is online.
• For SIM communication: Please insert a communication SIM card in the device before turning on the power.

Do not turn off the power of the device itself until the application download is finished

*If the power is turned off during downloading, the updated data up to the point when the power is turned off will be retained inside the device, and downloading will resume the next time the power is turned on.

*If the power is turned off during downloading and communication is lost, downloading will resume when the power and communication are restored.

When the download is complete, follow the on-screen instructions to restart the system.

Guideline

30 minutes in a good network environment, such as a wired LAN connection, or 1 hour or more in an LTE environment.

We assume a good connection speed of about 50Mbps downstream, and it may take 3-4 hours depending on the environment.

Please note that it may take a long time to update the software.

3. Check the version after the update

After uploading, tap the gear symbol in the upper right corner of the app screen in the tablet, scroll down to the settings screen, and select "Display SMART CONSTRUCTION Edge Information".
Confirm that the app and OS have been changed to the latest version.

Supplementation

When updating from a pre-V6 version

・Please check with your distributor before updating.

・Please be sure to use AC power supply.

・After connecting the AC power supply and rebooting, the LED lamp of the device will light up red.

・This state will continue for a while, but please be careful not to disconnect the AC power supply.

・When the power is turned off, reboot the device to complete the update.

*If the power is not supplied, the sub power supply device will not be updated.

*The update will be performed when the power is turned off after the AC power is supplied while the power is on.
